The Center for Crime Prevention and Safety (CCV) has published the new harmonization agreement 2025-01. This agreement concerns the replacement of sprinkler heads during their service life. The agreement provides clarity on situations in which sprinkler heads may remain in place even after their specified service life has expired.
Sprinkler heads typically have a maximum service life. Once this period has expired, they previously had to be replaced as a standard procedure. The new agreement allows sprinkler heads to be retained if two conditions are met:
This procedure must be documented in the inspection report and may only be applied if there are no deviations or visible defects.
