Emissions requirements and inspection obligations

There are also various obligations regarding inspections and emission measurements. This often leads to confusion in practice.
A periodic SCIOS inspection assesses the safe and energy-efficient operation of the plant. An emissions measurement is a different matter and is only required when mandated by law, for example, when a new plant is commissioned or when new emissions requirements take effect.
For larger biomass plants, additional requirements may apply under the environmental permit or other environmental regulations.
