Frequently asked questions about the inspection of personnel construction hoists

For temporary personnel construction hoists, a periodic inspection is generally required every three months. In addition, the load limiter is tested annually using test weights.

Our inspectors assess, among other things, the safety features, the general condition of the installation, its attachment to the support structure, and the safety of the entire setup.

This load test allows us to verify that the load limiter responds correctly when the maximum permissible load is reached or exceeded.

Please have the user manual, any load charts, and—for an initial inspection by Normec—the previous inspection report available.

Ensure that the installation is fully assembled, clean, safely accessible, and that a qualified operator is present. Suitable test weights must also be available for the annual load test.
