Independent Inspections
Normec performs both initial inspections and periodic inspections for a wide range of lifting and hoisting equipment. During commissioning, we check whether a crane can be put into service safely. We then assess during periodic inspections whether the equipment continues to operate safely and reliably.
We inspect, among other things:
- Gantry and container cranes
- Quick-assembly cranes
- Mobile cranes
- Truck-mounted cranes
- Excavators
- Aerial work platforms
- Tower cranes
During the inspection, our inspectors assess, among other things, the safety features, the general condition of the equipment, and its proper positioning within the work environment. Upon commissioning, we also test the load limiter and, if applicable, the load moment limiter using test weights. For tower cranes and aerial work platforms, this load test is also performed annually.
