Prevent Water Waste in Legionella Management

One of the main causes of water scarcity is ongoing climate change. Reduced rainfall means less water is available. In addition, population growth is another major cause, but even more important—and perhaps the only cause we can influence—is water waste. Normec Kalsbeek has developed two innovative products, S@nsor and T@pper, with the goal of making the water market more efficient and greener.

Mandatory Management

In the Netherlands, the Drinking Water Decree mandates that safe water be made available to users and employees. The Drinking Water Decree stipulates that drinking water systems must comply with NEN 1006. NEN 1006 contains general provisions that are further detailed in water worksheets. For the management of tap water systems, this is specified in Water Worksheet 1.4G. Measuring the temperature and flushing the pipes are part of this management process. A significant amount of water is lost during these procedures. This is not an environmentally friendly way to carry out management.

Save Water with S@nsor

To ensure the safety of our drinking water, stopping flushing and temperature checks is not an option. However, there are ways to carry out these management measures in a more sustainable manner. Normec Kalsbeek launched the S@nsor in 2019. S@nsor automatically measures the flow rate and temperature of your pipelines. Because these tasks no longer need to be performed manually, this saves a significant amount of water. This is a smart way to remain compliant with regulations while also conserving water.

Smart Management with T@pper

The data collected by the sensors is transmitted to the T@pper digital management application. This ensures that the necessary information is always at your fingertips. The water temperature is recorded directly in T@pper’s digital logbook. Flow rate is also measured. If there are any faucets with no recorded flow, you’ll receive a notification. Instead of flushing all faucets, you now only flush the ones where it’s actually necessary.

How harmful is lead in drinking water, and what can you do about it?
