Defective emergency call system in the car

Remedy:

Test the landline or mobile line (GSM) by calling it. The emergency call system is a two-way system: from inside the elevator (or—for technicians—from the elevator car roof or beneath the car), you can contact the service team, but the service team can also contact the elevator.
If using a cell phone: make sure you have enough call credit or that the SIM card is still active.
In some elevators, the emergency call system is not operational if there is no technical problem
Contact the maintenance company to have the problem repaired

Wear and tear on traction components (e.g., cables), drive system, or speed limiter

Solution:

Contact the maintenance company to resolve the issue. Wear on traction components is a normal occurrence. Traction components are regularly replaced as a preventive measure after a certain number of trips (e.g., 1 million trips)

Water in the shaft pit

Remedy:

Contact the maintenance company to remove the water. The hoistway (the open space below the elevator car) is approximately 1.5 m deeper than the lowest landing. If there is even minimal water accumulation at the lowest landing, there is a good chance that the hoistway pit is already completely filled.
Also have the water damage repaired. Check the operation of safety contacts, rotating parts with damaged bearings, etc.

Emergency control malfunction

Solution:

Contact the maintenance company to resolve the issue.
Releasing the brake using a mechanical tool: the lever may have broken off, or the cable that transmits the movement may need to be replaced
Opening the brake via an emergency power supply: Is the battery connected? Is the battery sufficiently charged? Is the UPS malfunctioning?, etc.
Ensure that the necessary instructions for using the emergency control are included in the MK.

EC Declaration / Safety File: File is missing

Remedy:

Contact the elevator installer to obtain a copy of the signed EC Declaration and add it to the elevator’s safety file. The installer must retain these documents for 10 years.
The safety file must be available for review by all authorized agencies. It is the operator’s responsibility to keep the safety file up to date.
